*Stay Encouraged/Empowered*

Be encouraged. As a full-time student and full-time worker, I have grown to appreciate the things that God has allowed me to acquire in life. I have grown to become a very hard worker and a very determined individual. Because of my independent status, I buy all my own clothes, shoes, cars, etc. I feel it’s very important for people my age to “step up” and start doing these things for themselves. I believe that anyone in this world can succeed and live a comfortable life if they put in the effort and stay encouraged.

Be empowered. The time is now for people to stop waiting on the government for handouts. The time is now for people to get a higher education. The time is now for people to acquire jobs and do the things necessary to stay employed. The time is now for people to stop making excuses. The need to be better or do better should always empower individuals or groups to do what is necessary to succeed. Given the current economic situation, people need to realize their future depends on today.

Me...In Ten Years

•My Lifestyle
My future lifestyle will be four-fold. I hope to find a balance between my faith, my job, my family and my fun. I want to lead the type of life where I play as hard as I work. I want to go on several vacations throughout the year that take me all over the world. I will hopefully by this time be in great physical health and continue exercising and staying fit. Aside from family life and working, I plan to give back and be an active participant in my community.
•My Personal Life
My future personal life will consist of a beautiful marriage with the man of my dreams who also has a thriving career. In between becoming super successful and insanely rich, we will present the world with the most beautiful twin boys. All of these events will hopefully take place in Charlotte, NC.
•My Professional Goals
Professionally, I am unsure of what career I want to pursue in the business world but I plan to stay employed as a manager with Taco Bell while I finish school. While I figure out those exact career plans, I want to move up in the management chain from Shift Manager to the Region Area Coach for Taco Bell. As I move up in the management chain, I plan to go to graduate school to get my Master’s Degree in Management. Once I reach the position of Region Area Coach, I will pursue my goal of having my own business.

Response to "The Machine is Us/ing Us"

I think the title refers to the transfer of knowledge. In other words, every time someone uses the web, they “feed” the web more and more information. Every click, every search, etc transmits information not only to others around the world but certain information is tracked, stored and used at a later time and for different purposes.
Knowing how to operate the web is crucial for anyone to become successful in today’s society especially when searching for employment and communicating with potential employers. People who are already in the workforce should familiarize themselves with web applications or enhance their knowledge to keep up with growing technology.
The web has become fully integrated into everyone’s lives’. I think the web is a wonderful tool for browsing, research, etc but I also believe the web can be used in devious ways and poses a threat for the future development of society. As helpful and beneficial as the web is, I believe the web has become too advanced because it has eliminated the need for human interaction and has made life “too easy.”
